Home Theatre Projectors – 4 Key Difference From Plasma TV’s

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Recent advancements in technology have made home theatre systems more inexpensive and affordable than ever. Prices of LCDs, LEDs and Plasma Screens have been at an all time low due to the production capacity of these devices. For starting enthusiasts, this is a good time to invest on it.

There is some debate on whether one should use home theatre projectors or TV based screens when it comes to home sound systems. Some purists argue that home theatre projectors are the closest things to a movie theatre. Others say that when it comes to HDTV, TV based screens such as plasmas, LCDS, and LEDs have better resolution. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of home theatre projectors compared to LCDs, LEDs and Plasmas:

o Projectors are light and inexpensive. Projectors are portable and they can be easily placed in any part of the room. They are significantly cheaper than LCD’s and the like. These days however, there are LCD’s that start for less than 500 dollars and if the price differences between a projector and an LCD or LED start getting lower, there may be a shift to LEDs, LCDs and Plasma Television Screens

o Projectors are adjustable. The viewing size of your screen can also be adjusted with a projector. You can have a viewing room of a whole white wall with your projector. Some projectors have their guides on how to optimally use them

o Lifespan. Projectors use lamps and bulbs that do have a lifespan between 2000 to 8000 hours. Some more inexpensive projectors have a bulb lifespan between 1000 to 3000 hours. This is a major consideration especially if one is a frequent viewer

o Visibility. Some projectors need low ambient lighting levels when viewing. This means that during the day time, perhaps the viewing quality of a projector needs some adjustment in contrast as compared to LCDs, LEDs and Plasmas

Whatever the case may be, whether one chooses projectors or plasmas, there are other considerations in your home theatre system. After choosing your viewing vehicle, the next choice would be your sounds. This again involves the size of your viewing room. Some people prefer a 2.1 set up most especially if the sound system is perhaps in their bedroom or in a small private study room. Most opt for the 5.1 set up especially if it is a multi-utility area like the living room or the den.

There are lots of resources for you to check about which technology is suited to your needs. The Internet is full of information that can help you get started in your home theatre system.

Samsung UN55C6800 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV (Black) Review

Buy from Amazon.com
I have researched every brand of TV via internet and store visit in the last 6 months and narrowed it down to Samsung. After deciding I wasn’t interested in 3D, I looked for the best 2D TV with the best Picture. With out a question, this is the best 2D TV on the market today. First, the out of the box plug and play was super easy. I was expecting to calibrate the settings and had CNETs suggestions ready. To my amazement the factory picture settings were almost spot on. The main take away from this review is that the picture quality is really the best I’ve seen. If there is only one con to this unit, like other LEDs, the picture’s colors do get slightly washed out at very extreme angles. Other than that no other issues (no corner ghosting). Even the sound I really believe is better than average, but I will upgrade to a sound bar for that theater/sports volume needed. Again, picture picture picture quality is amazing and you should buy this TV.

Samsung UN55C6800 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV (Black) Feature

  • Mega Dynamic Contrast

Samsung UN55C6800 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV (Black) Overview

Excellent TV once setup properly – J. Hodges –
(The replies to this review might not make sense as I have edited it.)

I only gave this TV three stars at first because movies were unwatchable on it. I had tried the suggestions to no avail. Today, after switching the “auto motion plus” feature off on the correct (blu ray player) input (not the LED motion plus – you can turn that one on if you like), the movies look like movies again and they look great.

So now I no longer have any complaints about this TV and I am a very satisfied customer.

Great blacks, no bleeding, great picture (some adjustment may be needed), internet@tv is neat, sleek looking, I could go on and on.

5 stars now. Good job Samsung.

Great Price Cheetah AS3B for $69.99

Cheetah Mounts AS3B 3 Component Shelf Wall Mount Bracket For LCD, LED, Plasma TV Components Including Cable Box, DVD Player, Stereo Accessories, Wii, Playstation, etc. Review

Buy from Amazon.com
If your trying to figure out what component shelf to buy look no further my friends. Before I purchase anything I usually click on Amazon.com to get individuals reviews/opinions. Let me tell you, if you are in the market for a Component shelf for your lcd look no further. This is a beautiful, attractive 3 tray shelf which I put my Bose Stereo and Xbox 360 on.

Both components have plenty of room to set on their individual tray and wire management is not difficult at all. When sitting away from my stand I do not see any wires which is very important to me. The other thing I would recommend to anyone that is in the market for something like this. Do ‘NOT’ place it under your flat screen tv! Why you might ask? The reason for this is when I’m watching a movie on my flat screen tv all I want to see in my ‘field of view’ is the tv and not a 3 tray shelf with electronic components!

I’ve seen so many customer images with their component shelfs under their beautiful flat screen tvs and under their tvs they have this big, honking shelf!

Trust me, you will enjoy the movie that you are watching more if all that is in front of you is the movie and not anything else that is going to distract you.
This shelf stands in the corner of my room and looks very attractive I must add. All my friends and family also complement this stand when they first enter my room.

So, there you have it. Just buy it instead of pulling your hair out trying to figure out which one to buy…

Cheetah Mounts AS3B 3 Component Shelf Wall Mount Bracket For LCD, LED, Plasma TV Components Including Cable Box, DVD Player, Stereo Accessories, Wii, Playstation, etc. Feature

  • Holds 70LBS
  • Cable Management
  • Aluminum and Glass Construction
  • Easy Assembly
  • Drywall or Stud installation

Cheetah Mounts AS3B 3 Component Shelf Wall Mount Bracket For LCD, LED, Plasma TV Components Including Cable Box, DVD Player, Stereo Accessories, Wii, Playstation, etc. Overview

The AS3B is a tri-shelf cable management system. It can be used with or without a Plasma/LCD mount. This unit is designed to fit under your display and provide an on wall solution for other components such as cable boxes, DVD players, game consoles, and stereo components. There are three 2.25″ holes on the aluminum plate that allow you to cleanly run your cables up to your TV or down to another component, as well as out the bottom to an outlet.

After reviewing our competition we realized that most shelving units need to be mounted directly into a wall stud. In most cases the wall stud is placed to the right or to the left of the display, which is not where most people prefer to have their shelves mounted. This is still the most secure option however, after significant research we’ve fount that using the correct toggle bolts can allow you to mount your shelving unit wherever you see fit. With the combination of four of these toggle bolts the shelving unit is able to hold well over 70LBS safely. Each individual toggle bolt provides 75LBS of support. Please not that a good toggle bolt is still only as good as the quality of the drywall it is mounted into. If you have water damage or .25″ drywall please add a support for your shelving unit.

Cheetah Mounts 2 Component Shelf – Christopher –
The shelves themselves are great, they look amazing, I love the style, the ease of assembly and mounting, everything.

One major problem, the shelves are nowhere near large enough to hold anything substantial, neither my cable box, nor my stereo receiver fit on the shelves. These are specifically outined in the description of the item. Should I have measured before purchasing, of course I should have, but I don;t see how the description can be seen as accurate in this regard.

Just as other reveiws say – Randy McFall – Table Rock, Nebraska USA
Measure twice purchase once. This is a beautiful looking shelf but like the reviews say.it is shallow on the shelf depth. I have alotta weight on this shelf and the glass does scare me but then it is holding well so far 2 months now.

Nice mount good price – Keith E. Keller – Iraq
This will be short and simple, VERY NICE PRODUCT.

The only issue is the holes on the top and bottom that you feed the cables in for the TV and out to power are a little small, other than that…perfect.

LED TV Bracket – Understanding LED TVs

Filed under: Led Tv Articles — Tags: , — admin @ 5:49 pm

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The television market continually changes. This year has brought the release of the first 3D televisions on sale. This is shortly after the release of LED technology for televisions. Before discussing the available LED TV bracket and LED TV wall bracket choices one must first understand the LED television. What is it and what makes it different from your typical LCD television?

LED is a type of light which has been around for several years. The light bulb has a longer life than your typical light. The first thing we saw light emitting diodes with was Christmas lights. Samsung, Panasonic, Philips, Toshiba, LG, ProScan, and Vizio have all decided to offer LED TVs. The technology has replaced the traditional fluorescent light found in LCD televisions. LEDs have two forms: a Dynamic RGB and a White Edge LED. The RGB method provides truer colours like black, white and primary colours. It has a higher dynamic and costs less. The Edge LEDs have a diffused light across the entire screen sharpening the backlight, but also causing a dimming of the picture.

As you might have guessed by now the LED technology is nothing new. The use in televisions was new and it rose in popularity rather quickly. The reason they became so popular was because most understood the LED light would last longer than fluorescent light for the backlighting. They figured it was better technology and therefore worthy of spending a little more. The downside in the popularity of LCD televisions is that the off angle viewing is poor. Even offering LED with the LCD technology has not changed this. However, LCD is still better than the plasma design because it is based off of light rather than a plasma creation which has a half life.

At the moment the LED technology has not quite reached its potential, but for those who follow the electronic industry this has not made them less popular. In 2010 more models have been released in small screen sizes. LG has over four models you can purchase as do many of the aforementioned producers of LED technology.

Now that you have an understanding of what LED televisions are and that they are being sought by the public you can look at the LED TV bracket and LED TV wall bracket available for these televisions. As a flat panel screen this TV can be tipped over and damaged if it is not correctly mounted to a wall with the TV bracket.

LED TVs are not unlike the regular LCD with fluorescent light. You can use similar TV brackets with the LED television. However, it is best to shop for an LED TV bracket or LED TV wall bracket. The reason for this is that you have the right size. You always want to have the proper bracket no matter the television you own. Therefore, you can look at the two choices you have. You have the TV bracket which is standard in how it works. It will mount your television safely to the wall or TV stand you have chosen. It will not have a lot of manoeuvrability when it comes to the tilt or swivel. It is mostly a steady wall mount for direct angles.

The second choice you have is the ultra slim bracket. The ultra slim bracket comes in two ranges: 26 to 32 inches and 37 to 65 inches. They were created for this range because up until 2010 small sized LED TVs were not being manufactured. Now you have some companies offering below 30 inches.

The ultra slim bracket is not like your typical LCD television bracket. It offers four screws for the smaller size screens, but it is in a horizontal position rather than a square. There are two silver brackets for screws and then two black brackets. You can manipulate the size a little bit on the ultra slim bracket. It is not a huge metal bracket, which makes it lighter and to some degree easier to install.

For those who require an LED TV bracket the ultra slim can be the most attractive. It will be a little more than the regular LED TV bracket which is designed like most LCD brackets. The good attribute of LED TV bracket options like the ultra slim is that it can make the TV almost flush with the wall like a picture frame.

Samsung 55 Led LCD TV – Get More Out of Less

Filed under: Led Tv Articles — Tags: — admin @ 5:48 pm

Today everything has been changed. So has the TV technology. The old traditional CRT TV’s are now being replaced by new flat panel LED TV range. Now we have a new and great TV watching experience. The new LED TV is quite different from those old CRT TV’s. Let’s have a small look on this:-

Now if you ask me a question that which TV we should buy than I will suggest you only one LED TV SAMSUNG UN55B8000 55. I am suggesting you this product because of the following reasons:-

1). Thin and Light weight:- Only a one and half inches thick and weighs around 66 pounds – is able to be mounted anywhere you want – on wall, on ceiling or any other place.

2). Power consumption and eco friendly:- This new flat panel HDTV consumes up to 40% less power than any other normal TV. It also reduces carbon production which is very good for environment. So we should consider this one first before buying any product.

3). Sharper picture:- The one major quality of this product is this that un55b8000 55 LED TV 1920×1080 and un55b8000 55 LED TV Auto motion plus saves the colors from spreading on the TV screen when the movement on screen is very fast. This increases the sharpness of the picture and makes pleasant to view the picture.

4). Internet compatible:- If you have a broadband connection than please just do one thing – plug the connection in it and start using Yahoo! Application directly from this device. You can work on Yahoo video, Flickr and many more websites without use of any PC.

By above discussion I hope you have understood the quality of SAMSUNG 55 TV. This review will help you in making a better decision.

Enjoy!

OLED TV Versus LCD TV

Filed under: Led Tv Articles — Tags: — admin @ 5:45 pm

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Many portable devices have already featured the OLED display so it is no longer a completely new technology. The OLED TV screens that are being hyped up by the electronics industry are an impressive new technology with the capability to be used for TV sets. While it is easier to incorporate them in portable devices with small screens, as of yet the television sets with OLED screens are rather small in size (no ‘big screen’ models are available OLED yet), however we have seen a glimpse of what the technology would be like when it is released in the form of a mainstream television screen.

Some of the portable devices that have this technology include some newer models of Zune HD. While their older models all had LCD screen, the HD version was an inspiring design incorporating the futuristic OLED technology. The MP3 player from the Creative Zen brand is famous for the OLED screen as well, while the iPod touch and event the popular iPhone does not have this technology but utilizes the conventional LCD display. So although right now the OLED might seem a bit futuristic, market researchers agree that it won’t be long before the LCD is a thing of the past and the OLED takes over the electrical stores.

OLED is actually a term that describes an organic light emitting diode. It is a major advancement on the previously used LED technology which was a light emitting diode. The LED is a semi conductor that emits light when a current is passed through the material. This is the same for an OLED as well but the difference is in the material used. While LED used crystalline materials like glass to work as the semi conductor, OLED uses organic materials for example plastic. There are a number of reasons why the OLED technology is said to top the LCD display technology.

One of the first benefits of using an OLED screen is that there is no backlighting system like there is in the full HD LCD TV. Backlighting actually restricts LCD display capabilities and so they are not clearly visible. As opposed to that, an OLED is not only visibly better since it does not use the backlighting technique, it also uses less energy and hence is more energy efficient than the LCD. When used in portable devices this technology gives excellent battery power results because the battery can last longer when used with an OLED screen.

The colors generated by the OLED display are also much brighter and sharper than the ones that come from the use of LCDs. In fact the LCD display cannot display deep levels of blackness which makes the pictures look less sharp as a result. The OLED technology shows colors as they are and really bring out the vibrant colors on display. The picture degradation problem in the LCD TVs is another thing that can be eliminated by the use of the OLED TV.

One cannot view the LCD TV from very wide angles, but only in a constricted head on position is the only way a picture can be viewed properly. With an OLED TV the screen can be viewed at any angle whatsoever without disturbing the picture quality. The use of plastic in the OLED screen is another benefit because as opposed to the glass in the LED display, it is much lighter, thinner and definitely gives the consumer more flexibility.

While OLED TV technology is definitely promising, there are some quirks that need to be settled which includes the high price of the technology. While smaller devices that are portable are not inhibited by this, when the same technology is manufactured to a bigger screen it becomes more expensive. This is why the major companies are still working on it to provide a better solution for the end user.

Environment Friendly LED TV Technology

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Recently we celebrated the ‘earth hour’ where households and buildings participated by turning off their electricity for an hour. The power savings made by every TV turned off, multiplied by the number of the houses that participated was staggering. But can you imagine the power savings we can have if all households use a LED TV?

It’s a huge number. And huge numbers can have a big effect on anything. And for Mother Earth, it’s a big break from all the carbon and heat emissions of fossil fuel powered companies and households.

It is said that the LED TVs designs can save up to 40% energy compared to that of normal TVs. LEDs are not new, they have been around for several decades now. Your father might tell you about times past when calculator displays had green numbers. Car light manufacturers noticed the energy savings from using LEDs and developed designs for head and side lights that utilized them. There are also new flashlights made of multiple LEDs clustered together.

Of course, you’ll see LED lights on many appliances, the small green, blue and orange dots of light on the power button, and even on your mobile charger. They are everywhere nowadays, and now LCD screen manufacturers have incorporated the technology in televisions. LED TV technology is still new and has not yet reached its full potential. This is the reason why LED TVs are still expensive compared to standard LCDs. Companies are constantly thinking of ways to incorporate LEDs in any type of display, and to develop designs that are more energy efficient than ever before. And like all new technologies, the price will become even more affordable eventually.

So for the future home, we are sure to find new breeds of LED technology, like replacing our old CFL bulbs with LED lights. Further than that replace our old TV with an LED TV. Imagine the power savings a whole country can make when all are using energy efficient LED technologies. It’s a whole new way to light up the world.
